About our Client Our client is a dynamic and progressive organisation with a strong reputation in the market within South East Queensland and they have a need for a Senior Regulatory Economist to join their growing business services team. Job Description As a key part of the business services team, this newly created role will provide strategic economic and financial analysis, recommendations, support and advice to help inform effective decisions. Your key responsibilities will be (but not limited to); - Assist in the translation of regulatory proposals and outcomes to financial performance of the business;
- Facilitate the establishment of core business systems and processes that align business decision making to the regulatory environment;
- Facilitate preparation of pricing data to provide to Price Regulators drawing on capital and operating expenditure budgets;
- Contribute to the budgeting, strategic planning and policy development processes through the provision of expert advise and analysis;
- Provide advice and prepare correspondence, reports, submissions and presentations for the Board of Directors, Audit Committee and Executive Management;
- Effectively manage key stakeholders, client and supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of key projects and to promote a partnering approach.
The Successful Applicant The successful candidate will possess a commerce or economic degree and have previous proven experience within a similar role and large organisation. Strong financial and economic skills particularly applied in regulatory economics as well exposure to project evaluation and written policy is necessary for this role. You will have have high attention to detail, strong advocacy and communication skills as you will be required to influence stakeholders and other senior management.
