Sales Director / Associate Publisher

Leading publisher of multiple magazines, hard copy and affiliated websites require an Associate Publisher / Sales Director to oversee Sales Managers and their teams as well as Editors and a journalist.
 
The Role


Working as part of the senior team, this role is suited to an experienced and confident manager.  Holding accountability for revenue, profit, success of reports and strategic direction of brands, the successful candidate will demonstrate a consistently professional approach to this position and hold a positive and creative outlook. 


Key Responsibilities

  • To manage the ongoing revenue, profit and cost bases of two magazines and their affiliated websites
  • To ensure the overall sales department of the division is achieving targets and all KPIs
  • To take the lead with sales training, assisting the GSM's in creating an ongoing informal sales training schedule
  • To manage all staff within the group, recruitment, incentives, training and development.  To ensure sales staff are achieving their targets set and are working within company expectations
  • To regularly attend client meetings with sales managers, and sales execs, adding value and offering feedback
  • To maintain regular one on one meetings with all direct reports
  • To maintain an excellent CRM (sales force)
  • To create, implement and lead the strategic focus of the group, working closely with the Group Publisher
  • To work with the group marketing department, developing media information and house ads
  • To constantly source new revenue streams, through client acquisition and brand extensions
  • To investigate and implement the launch of road shows, seminars and awards
  • To work with editors to create a strong brand identity for the publications, and help with relaunch ideas and content strategy
You will have:
  • Excellent record in media sales, both off and online
  • Understanding of management accounts, P&L and forward bookings
  • Extensive experience of sales management, people management, strategy planning and execution
  • Demonstrable excellence in achieving targets and KPIs
  • The ability to multi task, manage a portfolio and sell across a portfolio
  • The ability to position yourself as a role model for other team members, and a strong support to the Group Publisher and the business.
